Message from Geoffrey C. Nguyen, MD, PhD, FRCP(C)
Director of Research on Behalf of the CIRC

On behalf of the Canadian IBD Research Consortium, I am pleased to announce our third Call for Research Proposals. CIRC can offer you a platform through which multi-centre research proposals can be conducted amongst a network of academic and community based IBD practices throughout Canada. Our mission is to provide you with research expertise, a secure platform to manage your research data, and infrastructural support to optimize and refine research activities through the various stages from conception through to completion.

We welcome study proposals that would benefit from the involvement of the Consortium.

Please log into the Members’ area and use the template to provide a summary of your Research Proposal. The Scientific Committee will review these proposals and rank them based on relevance /importance, scientific quality and feasibility. Authors of highly scored proposals will be invited to submit a full study protocol to be developed with input from the Scientific Committee.

For this year’s submissions we have $50,000 to fund a study. A priority will be given to studies whose timeline is such that publishable data will be available within 12 months.

Individuals who previously submitted who have previously submitted proposals that were not approved are encouraged to review the comments made by the Scientific Committee and to resubmit their proposals, if appropriate, in this new format.

Submissions should be uploaded via the CIRC website Members’ area or emailed to info@circ-ccrm.ca no later than midnight EST time on June 10, 2019. If you have issues accessing the information on the website please contact Joan Stobbs at jstobbs@ibdcentrebc.ca.

If you have any questions regarding the submission or review process, please don’t hesitate to contact me at geoff.nguyen@utoronto.ca
